Most people don’t give much thought to their optimal shoe width, but it’s an important consideration. If your shoes are too narrow, the extra pressure can lead to ingrown toenails. And if your shoes are too wide, you can face a host of problems like bunions, corns, hammertoes, and similar painful conditions. We’ve created this women’s shoe width chart to help you find your optimal width and achieve a more comfortable fit. Whether you need shoes for women’s wide feet or narrow feet, we make it easy to find the right width. The first step is to trace around your foot with a sheet of paper. Then measure the total width at the widest points. Once you have your width in inches, refer to the women’s shoe width chart on this page. Find your shoe size, and then cross-reference it with your width in inches to find a list of manufacturer’s width options that would suit you. If you’re not 100% sure of your ideal shoe size, you can also refer to our shoe length chart. Unfortunately, there’s no standardized convention for shoe widths. So, for instance, if you have a medium foot, you might need to look for shoe width B, M, MW, or R (depending on the manufacturer).
